Mastering iOS 9: New Photos App Features

We usually take pictures with our iPhone, iPad to record the happy moments in our daily life. To bring more convenience for iOS device users, Apple Inc. put a few new and powerful features in the Photos app in iOS 9.

Selfie Album

In iOS 9, photos that captured with the front camera will be added to a new album named “Selfies” that generated automatically by the system. If you want to find your selfie quicker, you can go to check the “Selfies” album first.

Swipe to Select Photos Quicker

The new Photos app allows you to choose photos in a faster way. If you want to delete hundreds of photos, it’s not a funny thing. In iOS 9, if you want to delete photos shown in the same line, you can tap on the first photos you want to delete and swipe right. Just hold it and stop at the last photos of this line. When you release your finger, you will find that the photos between the first and the last pictures (including the first and last pictures) are chosen. Now, you can choose to delete them or to add them to other apps.

Note: If you want to delete 3 lines of photos with ease as the second screenshot above shown, you can tap on the first photos in the first line and slide to the last photos in the last lines alongside its diagonal. And three lines of photos are now chosen.

View Photos Quicker

To preview the photos stored on your iOS 9 device, you can follow the steps. Go to the album which contains the photos you are looking for. Then, swipe on the photo thumbnails and you can preview the photos without tapping on the thumbnails one by one to see whether it is the photo you are looking for.

Slide Down to Close Photos

In the new “Photos” app, there’s a new shortcut for you to close the Photos. You just need to operate the slide down gesture on the picture, and the Photos will be closed. This is very handy for those who use iPad and it’s very hard for them to reach the “Home” button.

That’s all for the tips and tricks on iOS 9 Photos app I’d love to introduce to you, if you want to get more info about the hidden features of iPhone 6s Plus/6s/6 Plus/6/5s, iPad Pro/Air 2/mini 4/mini 3 and more iDevices that runs iOS 9, you can keep an eye on our blog, the professional blog endeavors in spreading Apple News and tips for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users.
